Alright everybody...since Jambalaya is a famous dish, it needed to be on my blog. I love cooking and since all the recipes I post here I also actually cooked. So, feel free to ask any questions you might have ;)
I'll try keeping it simple :)
Ingredients for four:
- 4 chicken breasts
- 2tbsp olive oil
- 1green pepper
- 1 zucchini
- 1 leek
- 200g chorizo
- 200g ham
- 2 celery sticks
- 2 onions
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 red chili
- 400g canned/chopped tomatoes
- 600ml chicken stock
- 1-3 spoons of hot pepper sauce
Ready? Great! First, heat up the oil in a pan and cook the chicken, which you previously cut into bite-sized small pieces. Cook until the chicken get a white-yellow color. Then add the ham (cut into small cubes) and the chorizo (similarly cut into bite-sized pieces) and cook until sealed. Put the chicken, the ham and the chorizo aside, thus remove them from the pan and instead add the onions, the garlic, the leek (cut very small), the celery stick and the chili and cook them until softened.
Then, we add to the vegetables...some more:
- The zucchini, which you have to cut in small cubes beforehand.
- The green pepper, again cut it :)
- the canned tomatoes.
Now, you have all your vegetables in the frying pan. Add the 600ml chicken stock and the 1-3 spoons of hot pepper sauce, depending on how spicy you actually want your Jambalaya ;)
Bring everything to boil, then reduce the heat and add the the chicken, the ham and the chorizo back into the pan. Cook for appox. 30min.
You can eat it with noodels, rice or a nice fresh salade.
